Before he was a cop, my Dad was a farm-boy, and President of the Future Farmers of America chapter at his High School in East Texas, so roping and tying an angry steer was no big deal to him, but it wasn’t the sort of thing that city cops were often called on to do.

“Crazy From The Heat”It’s been a long and horrendously hot, dry Summer in Texas, the hottest Summer, ever, in fact.  And we need fifteen inches of rain to catch up to the average.  It rained yesterday; I know because I felt a raindrop hit my left thumb, just below the nail.  Later, I heard another drop hit the top of my sun helmet.  Every little bit helps, I guess.
